Though I can’t say we go way back or anything, this mama and I have been through the most powerful and intense experience of my life together. That is why I am honored and excited to share this shoot with you. While she was 5 months pregnant with her son, she was Kim and my birth doula. I was thrilled to have her on our birth team and gained the confidence I needed at the time to embark on the much anticipated labor and delivery journey. She was new at being a doula but not ill prepared or lacking in the necessary skills. She knew what I didn’t even know I wanted at each turn in my labor. She was a pivotal part of our birth team, as much for me as for Kim and my family in attendance. She helped us navigate the hospital protocols and translate between us when emotions were high and decisions important. So when Kim and I were thinking about a thank you gift, no robe or nice dinner out felt appropriate. About to give birth to her third child I decided it would be fun to gift a family photography date so they could preserve in photos this moment in their lives. It was wonderful to see Mama ‘L’ and her beautiful family of 5 as we headed down to the Cannery building and waterfront. Thank you ‘L’ for being an important part of our journey to parenthood and I look forward to our paths crossing again in the future!Read More »
This is a fun shoot for me to write about since I’ve known mama ‘V’ since 2nd grade and we just reunited in the last year. It turns out she and her husband are both photographers and have a beautiful little girl. Kim and I asked them to shoot our maternity session last Fall out in West Marin for a trade and now I finally got to return the favor for their sweet family 8 months later. Little ‘R’ is the smartest and funniest little girl I’ve known. She is super imaginative and comes up with the best lines, opinions and observations ever. Remember Mr. T from the 80′s? She was obsessed with him for months… Love it.Read More »
This little boy melted my heart with that smile that was so ready at every click of the camera! And his Mom and Dad looked sharp in their outfits, including Dad’s uniform since he was stationed on Treasure Island the day of our shoot. What a beautiful day and view we had! These three have a very sweet bond that came through the whole time we spent together and shines in the images here. Thank you ‘H’ family for supporting your preschool and buying this auction item last year. It really was a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to future photo dates with you!Read More »
Remember the beautiful “big brother” and “big sister” maternity shoot from a while back? Well, here they are with little ‘A’ at 5 months old and as adorable as his big brother and sister! This family just finished building their stunning new home so we set out to capture them in all it’s light and bright newness. I love these shots of the kids individually too. Their energetic and smiley dispositions shine! Congrats on the new additions and I look forward to watching your beautiful babies grow over the next years!Read More »
We could not have planned a better day to head to Baker Beach for this beautiful family’s photo date! They drove a long way to be here and I was hoping for decent weather, but this was beyond any nice day I have ever seen out there. Little ‘C’ was excited to get her toes and fingers in the sand but not so sure about the water. Mom and Dad chased her around and we caught her in some very cute moments on her own as well as the three of them snuggling and exploring the beach. I loved meeting you guys and hope to see you on a future play date! Enjoy!Read More »

Heading off to the park on a sunny morning with these guys was super fun. As little ‘H’ is growing fast and is so curious about everything, we were all on the move during this portrait session. At the end we found a beautiful tree to camp under and got some fun shots with dad and mama and then as a family. Enjoy!Read More »

This sun-loving Florida family came to SF for their vacation this year and luckily had good weather while they were here! In our emails leading up to the shoot mom was dreading having to pull out the colder weather clothes for their vacation. I empathized that yes, while California is known as such a sunny state, that does not include this fair city in the fog :) So they were prepared for cold. I was happy it was “warm”… eh not that warm in their book… but still sunny and pretty nevertheless.
We started at the Ferry Building and headed out to the pier just on the south side to get some views of the city and the Bay Bridge, followed by some palm trees and tall buildings across the street. We ended the session at Blue Bottle Coffee for dad and Peet’s for hot chocolate and a frappe for ‘C’ and his mom. I really enjoyed getting to know you guys! Thank you for including me in your afternoon date and I hope you got the well-deserved vacation you dreamed of before returning to school and work :)Read More »
This session was focused around little ‘V’ and her parents at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. It was such fun to watch ‘V’ discover rocks, flowers, birds, and all the various elements that we as adults look over. I enjoyed the slow exploration of the trail with the beautiful lake in the background as boats and geese paddled their way past. Little ‘V’ was a joy to capture giggle, look perplexed, and point to everything she was taking in. Thank you, beautiful ‘B’ Family for the lovely shoot and have a safe trip back to Russia tomorrow!Read More »
